New Library Cards
- Free to all Guilford County residents, for out-of-county
patrons there is a yearly $25 fee.
- Photo ID plus second document showing current address
- Parents must be present for minors to get a library card
Patron Privileges
- Fifteen items may be borrowed per library account. DVD checkouts are limited to 3 per account.
- Patrons can not checkout library materials with outstanding overdue items or fees.

Returns
- Books may be returned to the desk or in the outside drop box.
Videos, DVDs & audio books should be returned inside if possible.
Patron’s Responsibility
- Patrons are responsible for borrowed materials.
- Parents are responsible for materials borrowed by minors.
- Patrons are responsible for updating personal information such as addresses and phone numbers.
Fines
- Overdue: 10 cents a day for books, 50 cents a day for movies.
- Lost or destroyed items: Replacement cost of each item.
- Patrons with outstanding fines may not check out any items, including public computers.
